The best London hotel wedding venues

There is no reliable single average for these hotels because most of the luxury properties price weddings around room hire, guest numbers, food and beverage, date, accommodation and production. For several of the hotels below, the current official website does not publish a complete wedding tariff and asks couples to request a proposal.

Two useful public benchmarks do exist. Corinthia London’s publicly available 2025 wedding brochure quotes approximately £230 per person for its wedding celebration, with room hire starting from £6,000 and a seasonal minimum spend. Town Hall Hotel currently publishes Heritage & Harmony from £275 per person and Town Hall Indulgence from £510 per person, both with minimum guest numbers.

Treat these as starting references, not a final wedding budget. Floristry, entertainment, production, ceremony fees, upgraded wine, extra bedrooms and service charges can materially change the total. For the other hotels, I would rather say 'bespoke quote' than publish a number that the hotel itself does not currently publish.

The Dorchester is one of the clearest examples of a hotel that can contain most of the wedding day. Preparations, ceremony, drinks and dinner can remain connected while Park Lane and Mayfair are immediately outside if a short portrait change of scene is useful.

The hotel currently describes its wedding packages as curated and bespoke rather than publishing a fixed public wedding price. Its wedding offering includes a complimentary night in luxury accommodation for the couple, while the final proposal depends on the chosen rooms and celebration.

For photography I would prioritise the rooms you are actually using over a long tour of the hotel. The strongest advantage is continuity: people can remain present in the wedding while the setting changes around them.

The Ritz is visually unmistakable: formal rooms, gilded detail and Piccadilly give it a very different character from the more contemporary London hotels.

The hotel’s current public website does not show a simple wedding package tariff. For an actual wedding budget, request the current event proposal directly and separate the venue’s charges from registrar and ceremony fees.

Mandarin Oriental combines formal hotel interiors with direct access to Hyde Park. The Ballroom can accommodate large celebrations, while the park-facing spaces give a useful contrast without putting a long transfer into the portrait schedule.

The hotel currently presents weddings as tailor-made with a dedicated wedding planner rather than publishing a fixed public package price. Its main Ballroom is listed for events of up to 400 guests. The hotel separately lists licensed wedding ceremonies for up to 200 guests; confirm capacity for your ceremony, dinner and dancing layout.

That makes it especially relevant for couples comparing a large central-London hotel with genuine outdoor access. I would still keep the park optional so rain or timings never compromise the wedding.

Linda and Bizhan’s Persian wedding shows The Lanesborough as a real wedding setting rather than a venue brochure. The formal hotel interiors were the centre of the celebration and Hyde Park gave us a short, contrasting portrait chapter nearby.

The Lanesborough’s own current FAQ says wedding and event-space prices vary according to the event requirements, so there is no responsible single published figure to quote here. Its event spaces range from intimate rooms to The Lanesborough Restaurant, which can accommodate large celebrations; reception-style capacity reaches roughly 250 guests, while seated and dinner-dance layouts are lower.

If you are comparing it with Mandarin Oriental, the decision is less about proximity to Hyde Park — both have that advantage — and more about room style, guest numbers and the atmosphere you want for dinner and the evening.

Rosewood London has a strong arrival sequence, courtyard, staircase and detailed interiors. It gives a wedding several recognisable spaces without requiring the couple to leave the hotel simply to create visual variety.

Rosewood’s published wedding brochure outlines Rose, Noble and Pearl packages. Its current wedding pages invite an enquiry for a tailored celebration, so ask the events team to confirm the available packages, bedroom benefits and price for your date.

That is why I would compare the inclusions before comparing headline numbers. A package that already covers the room, dinner, drinks, guest rates and a suite can be very different from a lower starting price with those elements added later.

Corinthia feels brighter and more contemporary than several of the Mayfair hotels, with large suites and a central position near Westminster and the river.

Martina and Magnus’s wedding reached Claridge’s after preparations at Baglioni Hotel and a ceremony at The Orangery in Holland Park. For their day, Claridge’s was the formal Mayfair reception chapter rather than an isolated hotel shoot.

Claridge’s currently does not publish a simple wedding package price on its public wedding page. Weddings are presented through its events offering, so couples should request a current proposal for their date, rooms and guest numbers.

Its Ballroom is designed for major celebrations, but smaller rooms are available too. If your search is 'how much is a wedding at Claridge’s?', the useful answer is that the current hotel pricing is bespoke: guest count, rooms, menu, drinks and production need to be quoted for your date.

In the Gherkin wedding story, St Pancras Renaissance Hotel was the preparation location before the wedding moved across London. That makes it relevant here as a genuine hotel chapter even though it did not host the whole celebration.

The building gives preparations a very recognisable London character: Victorian Gothic architecture, large interiors and direct transport connections around King’s Cross and St Pancras.

For a preparation hotel I care most about usable room light, space around the couple, family access and realistic departure time. A famous lobby is secondary if the morning itself becomes cramped or rushed.

Town Hall Hotel was the preparation setting before the wedding continued to Asylum Chapel and MC Motors. It therefore belongs in the hotel guide even though the full story deliberately moves through several East London locations.

Unlike many luxury London hotels, Town Hall Hotel currently publishes clear package starting prices: Heritage & Harmony from £275 per person, Town Hall Indulgence from £510 per person, and a ceremony-focused option from £70 per person. Minimum guest numbers apply.

Its current wedding page also says all event spaces are licensed for marriage, so it can work as more than a preparation base. For couples comparing packages, this is the sort of published information that makes a first budget much easier to build.

For a large evening party I would start by comparing Corinthia, Claridge’s and Mandarin Oriental rather than choosing only from photographs of their interiors.

Corinthia is particularly explicit: its published Ballroom wedding package includes use of the dancefloor, stage and sound system. Its current Ballroom page lists receptions of up to 350 guests, with lower capacities for seated layouts. Claridge’s Ballroom is designed for major celebrations, while Mandarin Oriental lists its Ballroom for events of up to 400 guests.

Capacity alone is not enough. Ask each hotel about live-band limits, curfews, production access, loading, stage size, sound restrictions and how much of the dancefloor remains once your final table plan is installed.

Put every quote into the same categories: room hire, ceremony, canapés, dinner, wine, Champagne, evening food, production, dancefloor, bedrooms, couple’s suite, service charge and minimum spend. A package with more included can look expensive at first and still be better value.

Accommodation matters when the wedding begins and ends at the hotel. Compare the current bedroom and suite inclusions alongside room hire, food, drinks and minimum spend rather than assuming that similarly positioned hotels include the same benefits.

A restaurant wedding can be cheaper when you need less private space and production, but it is not automatically cheaper. Compare the final like-for-like total and the guest experience rather than venue category alone.
